Esmé enjoys providing high quality custom tattoos for discerning clients that are seeking a unique and meaningfully tailored experience.
Esmé is currently prioritizing Ceremonial Intuitive Sessions, larger scale projects, botanicals and first tattoos as a right of passage. She loves creating original artworks for her clients, having a special focus in rights of passage, thresholds, ancestral healing, holding space through tattoo as a modality for healing trauma and helping her clients access their ability to feel amazing in their bodies and about themselves.
Esmé began tattooing in 1995, while attending the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Soon after that, she became immersed in study of the history, culture, and art of tattoo.
Inspired, she returned to Vermont, where she grew up, to pursue this work professionally. In 2002 Esmé acquired her tattooist’s license from the State of Vermont. After much planning and hard work, she opened Venus Tattoos in February 2009.
Esmé closed Venus Tattoos early in 2011 to stay home and care for her prematurely born twins Jack and Balin, along with their older brother Leroy. In September of 2017 Esmé re-opened her private studio Sacred Vessel Tattoo, as the sole owner and artist while apprenticing her son Leroy, who now also works as a second. generation tattooer and full time artist.
Esmé is known for her extreme attention to detail and reverence for the ancient & future art form of tattooing.
Always innovating in her field of expertise, Esmé has begun combing her knowledge of nearly 30 years tattooing with her ever expanding awareness of the mystical + scientific workings of the human body, nervous system and bio-field. The Marriage of these passions has led Esmé into expanding her offerings into the realms of shamanic and medicinal application of tattoos “as medicine” for healing along the path of the human experience journey.

INTUITIVE TATTOO Ceremony with Esmé
A Ceremonial tattoo with Esmé it is a co-creative process, A process of tattooing which can be a powerful healing and transformative experience.
When working in alignment PURE source energy, tattoo becomes a portal into both the energy body and physical body of the recipient. A portal through which one can release trapped unhelpful energies, thus making space for new helpful energies to enter. It is Esmé’s mission to help facilitate positive transformation for her clients in whatever area of their lives they are looking to shift with awareness, on their path of becoming their fully actualized, authentic and favorite possible selves.
